Design Perspective MDFF Capsule at Minotti Hong Kong by Andante

Minotti Hong Kong by Andante was honoured to be invited as the exclusive leading partner of the Milano Design Film Festival Capsule (MDFF Capsule) in Hong Kong. On this occasion of the HK Business of Design Week (BoDW) (5-12 Dec 2018) for the design and architecture sectors in HK and the region, Andante hosted the screening of 10 design short films specially selected by the MDFF in Milan.

A champagne toast kicked off the official opening of the MDFF Capsule in HK with over 70 vip guests attended to enjoy 10 design short films specially selected by the MDFF in Milan for the HK screening in the “Home Theatre” ambience created by the latest Minotti collection of furniture designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, Nendo, Marcio Kogan and Christophe Delcour plus the Venini’s new work of art by Ron Arad.

Ms. Santina Bonini, the representative of the HK Design Centre, gave a short opening remarks then followed by our guest of honour, the Italian Consul General Mr. Clemente Contestabile who addressed the Architecture Film Award (AFA) for the upcoming year, launched by MDFF in collaboration with “Fondazione dell’Ordine degli Architetti P.P.C della provincia di Milano” (FOAM). Mr. Roberto Minotti, the co-CEO of Minotti SpA, greeted the audience in a short video. The documentary film “Minotti Undiscovered. A Matter of Style” followed Roberto’s welcome address. This documentary film narrated the human and entrepreneurial adventure of the Minotti family, the company’s values and the design philosophy behind the iconic “Made in Italy” brand that was synonymous with excellence around the world. It offered an invaluable opportunity to discover the landmark events along the company’s journey and the key challenges of these 70 years through a riveting “behind the scenes” look revealing great passion and long-term vision.

A special showcase of legendary handmade glass objects and lights by the Murano glass masters of Venini took place as well. Some highlights included the collections: “WHERE ARE MY GLASSES?” by Ron Arad, “BLACK BELT” by Peter Marino, and “MURANA”, designed by Fabio Novembre.
